ST. BARTHELEMY, FRENCH WEST INDIES – The first annual Taste of St. Barths Gourmet Food & Wine Festival will run from October 31st to November 3rd 2014 on island. Seven restaurants will participate, presenting both four and eight-course tasting menus, and seven distinguished visiting chefs (with nine Michelin stars and several Relais & Chateaux awards between them) will present dishes. Jean-Georges Vongerichten, chef and restaurateur of New York staples The Mark, ABC Kitchen, and his namesake Jean-Georges, heads the festival as official ambassador. International chefs Thomas Troisgros, Daniel Berlin, Amandine Chaignot, Matsuo Hideaki, Jérôme Nutile and Jean-Jacques Noguier join him.

These celebrated masters will pair with some of St. Barths’ most talented local chefs, presenting twenty-eight unique dinners in total. Dinners will be held at Le Gaiac, La Case de L’Isle, Bartolomeo, Taino, Le Sereno restaurant, La Plage and The Rock. WIMCO Villas is happy to make reservations for these dinners, set at EUR 75 for four courses, and EUR 120 for eight. Taste of St. Barths includes much more than special dinners each night though; serious foodies can take advantage of cooking lessons from the masters, tips on mixing cocktails from one of France’s top mixologists, local tastings of traditional St. Barths cuisine, and even a “young chef” contest for budding cooks.
