We at Antillia Cultura enjoy rum, from the bottle and label design, the cool way it goes down, and the warmth it produces. There is literally a bottle of rum in every West Indian home.

Rhumology is our weekly ode to the rich cultural spirit of the Caribbean, rum, and the age old formula of legend – one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong and four of weak. We begin with The Bob Marley Frozen Drink.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. light rum
  • 4 oz. strawberry daiquiri mix
  • 3 oz. fresh mango
  • 1 ½ oz. sweet and sour mix
  • ½ oz. orange curacao
  • ½ oz. blue curacao
  • lime juice (optional)
  • 2 cups of ice

Method

Red – Combine 1 oz light rum, 4 oz. strawberry daiquiri mix and 1 cup of ice in a blender. Pour into the bottom of a glass.

Yellow – Next, combine 1 oz of rum, 3 oz. of chopped mango, 1 ½ oz. of sweet and sour mix, ½ oz. orange curacao and one cup of ice in a blender. Pour half of the mixture into the glass.

Green – Take the remaining half of the yellow mixture and combine with ½ oz of blue curacao. Pour into the glass and top with lime juice.
